Prof. T. Dutoit teaches Circuit Theory, Signal Processing, and Information (speech) Processing.
His research interests are in speech processing (speech analysis and synthesis mostly), and biomedical engineering. He heads the Speech Synthesis and
Biomedical Engineering research groups.

T. Dutoit holds an electrical engineering (FPMs, 1988), and PhD degree (FPMs, 1993). He teaches Circuit Theory, Signal Processing, and Speech Processing at FPMs since 1993. Between 1996 and 1998, he spent 16 months at AT&T-Bell Labs, in Murray Hill (NJ) and Florham Park (NJ).
He is the author of a reference book on speech synthesis (in English), the co-author of a book on speech processing (in French), and the co-author of a recent book on Applied Signal Processing (in English). He wrote or co-wrote about 60 papers on speech processing and software engineering.
T. Dutoit is a member of the IEEE Signal Processing and Biomedical Engineering societies.
He has been an Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Speech and Audio Processing (2003-2006) and is a member of the Speech and Language Technical Committee of the IEEE (2009-2010)
He is also in the editorial board of Speech Communication.
He is the initiator of the eNTERFACE4-weeks summer workshops on Multimodal Interfaces and was the organizer eNTERFACE'05 in Mons, Belgium.
T. Dutoit is also involved as a scientific advisor in industrial activities for Babel Technologies, S.A.
Last but not least, T. Dutoit is the scientific coordinator of the NUMEDIART research programme on digital media arts tehcnologies, funded by the Walloon government of Belgium (2007-2012)
