We will assume here that you have
downloaded and unzipped the French.zip archive, which contains all
modules and databases needed to make EULER speak French (except for
the MBROLA module and database, which has to be downloaded
separately). The French.ini script file in your
euler\common\bin\release directory has been designed accordingly: it
declares a series of modules and databases for French. Additional
languages can easily be downloaded and installed separately.
We will thus test WinEULER as a
French TTS for now:
- Run WinEULER from the euler\common\bin\release
directory. You should see somthing like the following splash
screen, which shows the EULER license, disclaimer, as well as the
copyrights for all modules/databases currently in use (this may
take some time):
- Click on "OK". You will then
get the WinEULER Window. Just enter a few French words (like
"Bonjour!" for instance), and click on the Play button (or choose
Commands/Play from the menu):
You should see EULER list the modules it runs, in the taskbar at
the bottom of the application, and hear a French voice coming out
of your sound card.
